Position Overview: The Qualified Behavioral Health Specialist (QBHS) plays a pivotal role in providing Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) services to clients, fostering healthy relationships within our treatment team and community providers. Under the guidance of a Licensed Social Worker, the QBHS facilitates restoration, rehabilitation, and support for daily functioning, enabling clients to manage psychiatric or emotional symptoms effectively.
Key Responsibilities: The QBHS responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Restoring and supporting daily functioning critical for success in various settings.
- Providing aid in accessing healthcare and non-healthcare services.
- Assisting in the restoration of social and interpersonal skills vital for community engagement.
- Collaborating with social service providers and coordinating care for optimal client functioning.
- Implementing solution-focused interventions and evidence-based treatments.
- Supporting clients in skill development for effective functioning in work, school, and home environments.
- Ensuring timely follow-up care and active participation in Quality and Utilization Management functions.
Essential Job Functions:
- Providing crisis intervention and implementing Individualized Treatment Plans (ITPs).
- Developing solution-focused interventions based on evidence-based treatments.
- Assisting clients in restoring social skills and effective daily living skills.
- Linking clients to additional resources and enhancing personal relationships.
- Ensuring timely completion of necessary documentation and outcomes.
- Active participation in Quality and Utilization Management functions.
- Maintaining professionalism, productivity, and attendance.
Requirements: Basic competencies required for QBHS:
- Understanding of mental illness or substance use disorder treatment and recovery.
- Knowledge of community behavioral health systems, social services, and healthcare systems.
- Familiarity with psychiatric and substance use disorder symptoms.
- Competence in therapeutic engagement and crisis response procedures.
- Understanding of de-escalation techniques and their impact on behavior.
Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of experience in Health and Human Services.
- Strong research and identification skills within the field.
- Proficient in writing, creative imagination, and social media content creation.
- Data entry expertise and the ability to provide direct care services.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively and execute plans.
- Familiarity with stakeholders and organizations in the field.
- Demonstrated skills in research, social media management, and interpersonal collaboration.
