Position Overview:
As a Certified Peer Specialist Supervisor, you'll play a pivotal role in overseeing our Peer Support Services program. This program involves specialized therapeutic interactions conducted by self-identified individuals with lived experience in behavioral health services. The goal is to offer support, assistance, and inspiration to others on their journey to recovery and community integration.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coach a team of peer support specialists, ensuring the quality and effectiveness of their services.
- Provide direct supervision and guidance to enhance the professional growth of team members.
- Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of peer support specialists.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
- Collaborate with other supervisors and managers to ensure consistent and effective service delivery.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of peer support services, implementing necessary improvements.
- Foster relationships with community partners to enhance the availability and accessibility of peer support services.
- Stay informed about best practices and emerging trends in peer support and mental health services.
- Ensure compliance with relevant policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive work environment that values diversity and promotes mental wellness.
Requirements:
- Must have a LCDCIII license or higher (LSW, LPC, LMFT), a bachelor’s degree with two years of mental health direct care experience, OR a high school diploma or GED with four years of mental health direct care experience.
- Maintain Peer Specialist Certification.
- Obtain Peer Specialist Supervisor Certification within 6 months of assuming the position.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the recovery process and the ability to facilitate recovery using established mental health processes.
- Ability to teach basic problem-solving strategies and support participants in self-directed recovery.
- Knowledge of signs and symptoms of mental illness and strategies for addressing symptoms.
- Ability to use and support staff in self-care strategies.
